C is for...

Every once in a while I remember "the perfect song" to start storytime with.  This one's a no-brainer
Music:  Sesame Street's "C is for Cookie"

Welcome Song

Henrietta’s Basket:  Box of crayons

Song: Be my echo (6 syllables x 2) candy cane and clown, corn and caterpillar

Sign Language: Letter C

Flannel Board: Birthday Candles
5 birthday candles, wish there were more

Blow one out, then there are four
4 birthday candles, pretty as can be
Blow one out, then there are 3
3 birthday candles, mother bought them new
Blow one out, then there are 2
2 birthday candles, birthday cakes are fun
Blow one out, then there is 1
1 birthday candle, a birthday wish is fun

Book: Little Mouse and the Big Cupcake (Taylor)
Song: Can You Find the color? - sung to London Bridges
Each child got an envelope with die cut shapes made with different colors.

Can you find the color red,
The color red, the color red?
Can you find the color red,
And hold it up in the air?

Substitute the names of other colors for red.

Nursery Rhyme: Jack be nimble

Book: The cow loves cookies (Wilson)

ABC Chant

Good bye Chant
